Developer Joseph Eichler and his Eichler Homes, Inc. built nearly 11,000 single-family homes in California, beginning in the late 1940s. In Northern California, they can be found in areas in and around Marin county, the East Bay, San Mateo county, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, San Jose, San Francisco, and Sacramento.
The first Eichler homes in Palo Alto, designed by Anshen+Allen and Jones & Emmons, were built in the early 1950s. Eichler continued building homes in Palo Alto throughout the 1950s, the ‘60s, and into the 1970s. Palo Alto is also home to several original 2-story Eichler homes designed by Claude Oakland.
Klopf Architecture has recently completed a beautiful and insightful remodel of a classic mid-century modern Eichler home, located in Palo Alto, California. Maison Eichler Garden Doors Garden Gates Patio Doors Backyard Fences Backyard Landscaping Landscaping Ideas Backyard Gates Gates
